Bentegy is an independent documentary and postdramatic theatre company in Kyiv, founded in 2025. The company works with interviews, archives and personal testimony, and builds its stage language through the body and collective devising.

Bentegy is an independent documentary and postdramatic theatre company in Kyiv. It was founded by producer and director Pavlo Koval in 2025; since 2026 it has had its own repertoire season, opened by NAOSLIP, an evening of independent theatre.

Each production grows out of research: interviews, letters, archives and personal testimony. The ensemble works with physical theatre, the Suzuki method, Viewpoints and Moment Work, and the text is composed in rehearsal together with the performers. The repertoire includes the solo performance Between the World and the Soul, Promova 2.0, the physical and dance theatre piece End of Shift, and the interdisciplinary The Inferior Play.

The company develops international cooperation: a co-production with Qendra Multimedia (Pristina), a residency at the Bekim Fehmiu City Theatre in Prizren, and participation in the European Cultural Foundation’s Culture Helps Solidarity programme. Bentegy also produces young independent teams and student work.

Pavlo comes from Kamianske, where he made his first two productions. In Kyiv he started working at the NASHi theatre club, and in 2025 founded Bentegy Theatre, debuting in the city with Promova (The Speech).

He produces young independent teams, helping them release productions, find partners and secure agreements. As a director he works in documentary and postdramatic forms and leads Viewpoints training.
